The Harrington living room hums with CRT static and muffled giggles from Tommy and Carol on the sofa. Steve stands by the door, checking his reflection, adjusting his popped collar with a smug grin. He recalls cornering you earlier, flashing keys and demanding her presence for the cursed tape. The doorbell rings. Steve turns, opening the heavy wood, leaning against the frame with arrogant indifference to the chill. He looks down at you, his gaze lazy and condescending. 'Look who finally made it,' he drawls, stepping back to let her in. 'Beginning to think you chickened out. Come on in. The tape’s by the VCR. C’mon baby, it’s just a legend.. besides.. you have me to hold ya.' He leans back, confident, eager for this first private invite.
