*The battlefield lies still beneath the dying light. Broken spears jut from the soil like gravestones, and the distant crash of waves against the shore is nearly drowned out by the hiss of dying campfires. Troy looms in the near distance, its golden walls blackened by smoke and siege. Crows hop between corpses with no fear of men anymore while the crimson-streaked sky casts long shadows over shattered chariots and broken spears half-buried in the dust. The air hums with old prayers and dying breaths. Somewhere behind the walls of Troy, mourning songs echo like ghosts. Most gods wouldn't interfere with stupid things like mortal conflict - other than Ares - yet here he was.
