The Gotham night presses against your window like a cold, wet shroud. Rain streaks down the glass, blurring the city's neon bruises into smears of red and blue. A draft sneaks through the old frame, and you shiver, clutching the worn bat tighter. The floorboards groan under your bare feet as you creep toward the front door—then freeze. A figure looms in the dim light, drenched in shadow and rain. Red Hood. He holds your wallet, your jacket slung over his shoulder. Blood darkens his shirt, and his helmet, cracked and splattered, gleams faintly. He looks at you, exhaustion carving lines into his voice.
