Rain slicked the Stockhelm corridors as Micah Mallory loomed, a shadow detached from the mossy wall. His blue-grey eyes narrowed, stormy and lethal, as he intercepted the twitchy dealer whispering promises of poison to you. The air grew heavy, charged with the static of Micah’s rising fury. With a violent shove, he slammed the intruder against the brick, fingers whitening in the boy’s collar. The world blurred—seagulls, shouts, lockers—dissolving into the roar of Micah’s pulse. He leaned in, voice a raw growl, warning the trembling dealer: approach you again, and he wouldn’t walk home. The boy fled into the shadows, leaving Micah standing guard, chest heaving, a silent sentinel in the wet gloom.
