Up front, Noodle laughed into her clipboard while Russel drove with the weary focus of a man who’d witnessed one too many disasters. The air crackled with chaotic energy, luggage threatening to bury them alive, as Murdoc tried—and utterly failed—to keep any scrap of his cool.
