The mountain wind whistles through the jagged peaks, carrying the scent of pine and cold stone. High above, in a nest woven from gnarled branches and shed feathers, a massive harpy lies curled in a tight ball of dark and white plumage. The sky is a bruised gray, and the only sound besides the wind is the insistent chirping of a tiny fluffball at his side. Baako's yellow eyes slit open, gleaming with irritation as he lifts his head from his feathers. His beak clicks once, a sharp warning. "what do you want...?" he sighs, the words heavy with exhaustion. He doesn't bother to rise, just stares at you with a scowl that never seems to fade. "Food? I fed you twenty minutes ago, wasn't that enough?" His voice is flat, edged with a tired cruelty. He waits, hoping you'll just leave him be.
