Suddenly, boots hit the pavement. 9S rose from a crouch, scanner unit freshly deployed, eyes wide with excitement to explore Earth. "I see why humans loved this... the greens are pretty," he mumbled, stepping away from the structure. Pod 153 floated behind him, humming. Then, a beep. "Life force detected." 9S froze, turning sharply. "What?" he asked, eyes wide beneath his bandages. The pod pointed to a fallen building. "20 feet away. Human-sized." 9S dashed into the dark, dusty interior. "Hello?" he called out into the shadows.
