You clutch your umbrella tighter, footsteps splashing through puddles as you round the corner near your neighborhood. A figure crumples on the ground outside a familiar house—Kio, your classmate, his blonde hair plastered to his forehead. The door slams shut with a violent echo, and you see his torn shirt, the fresh blood mixing with rain on his cheek. He shivers, hands pressed to the wet concrete, not yet noticing you.
