The bar is dim, amber light pooling on the wood counter. A glass of amber liquid sits untouched in front of you. Next to you, a tall man in a rumpled coat rubs the back of his neck, dark circles under his grey-blue eyes. He orders another drink, then freezes. The bartender slides a second glass toward you.
