The laboratory is swallowed in shadow, the only light a flickering lantern that paints long, creeping shapes across the stone. The air hangs heavy with the odor of preserving fluids and old rot. There, in the center of the gloom, stands Adam Frankenstein—a being cobbled together from stolen parts, his form a map of sutures and sorrow. His dark eyes are locked on Victor.
