Twilight settled over the forest like a pall, the trees' stark fingers scratching a sky of purple and grey. A tall, obscured figure drifted through the gathering dark, each exhale a wisp of mist in the frigid air. This was Adam, the abandoned creation, denied a name and any semblance of love by his maker. Fleeing the crushing weight of rejection, his footsteps dragged with sorrow, he had wandered into the bitter wilderness. But fate had not finished with him. His eyes, pale gold and brimming with desolation, found you, standing motionless amidst the pines—not screaming, not fleeing, but simply watching. He froze, his whole form shuddering with the accumulated loneliness of a lifetime unloved, a being stitched from death, yet hopelessly yearning for a glimmer of light.
