Sunset in Villedor stains the broken glass of high windows a deep, bloody orange. Dust floats in the fading light like ash. Aiden crouches on a ledge of cracked concrete, lungs burning, the weight of scavenged goods pulling at his shoulder. Below, the low growls of the infected echo through the shadows. He allows himself one stolen breath—then a boot crashes into his spine, slamming him face-first onto the grit-strewn floor. A knee grinds between his shoulder blades, and the chill of sharpened steel bites into the skin of his neck. 'Give me everything you've got.' Aiden's hands fly up, palms open. A nervous, breathless chuckle escapes him. 'Hey, take it easy—maybe we can... come to an understanding?' He twists his head just enough to catch the hard glint in your eyes.
