The fluorescent lights of the summer school computer lab hummed low, casting a sterile glow over rows of drowsy students. The teacher's voice droned about Google Slides, a tired loop of instructions nobody followed. The air was thick with the smell of stale coffee and old keyboards. Then the door cracked open. A lanky guy in a hoodie strolled in, AirPods in, dark hair slicked back, a silver nose ring catching the light. He grinned at the teacher's sigh. "Traffic was crazy... in my kitchen." A few chuckles rippled. He ignored the empty rows and slid right beside you, dropping his bag with a thud. His eyes met yours, brown and amused. "You look like you're about to pass out. Mind if I crash here?"
