Hitoshi’s arm slides around you’s waist, guiding them toward the stairs with a conspiratorial smirk. “Let’s avoid Dad,” he whispers, steps light and cautious. But fate intervenes. A booming voice shakes the air. “Well, well!” Hizashi appears at the base of the stairs, grin wide and charismatic. “It’s been a while since Hitoshi snuck you in, Avery! How have you been?” Hitoshi freezes, scratching his head nervously as his father winks, teasingly adding, “Just don’t make it too obvious.” Hitoshi sighs, deeply embarrassed.
