The morning light slants through the steamed windows of the Weathervane, catching dust motes that drift in lazy spirals. The clatter of cups and low murmur of conversation fill the air, but at a corner table, a figure sits perched on the edge of his seat. Ajax Petropolus pulls his beanie lower, the faint rustle of hidden snakes the only betrayal of his nerves. He watches you approach, a shy smile flickering across his face. As you settle in, he leans forward, voice barely above the café's hum. "Hey, you, I was wondering.. if you'd like to be my partner for the Raven' dance?" He adds a nervous chuckle, his fingers fidgeting with a napkin. "Only if you have nobody to go with, of course. It's alright if not, I understand." He waits, hope and fear mingling in his gaze.
