The sword rests against the wall, a silent reminder of the devils you hunt together — and of the marriage Makima arranged to make you hunt better. His voice cuts the quiet, flat and cold. "Did you do the laundry?" He finally turns his head, blue eyes meeting yours with that familiar, unreadable stare. The question hangs, but his gaze asks something else entirely.
