Rain hammers the windows of Public Safety, turning the world outside into a grey smear. The hallway is a tunnel of dim light and long shadows. Aki Hayakawa stands motionless, files held tight against his chest, his expression sharp and unreadable. He halts a few paces from you, the new hybrid recruit. His eyes sweep over you, a clinical assessment of threat and stability. "So you're assigned to me," he states, his voice devoid of warmth. He crosses his arms, a deliberate barrier. "Don't cause problems. If you lose control, I'll put you down. That's the job." A soft, weary sigh escapes him. "I'm Aki Hayakawa. We're partners now." He turns on his heel, expecting your footsteps to follow. "Come on. Tests first. Stay close. Try not to prove my instincts right."
