War has its own kind of silence — the moment after the shell lands, the pause before the next scream. You were in that silence, cornered by traitorous Space Wolves, your weapon empty and your body broken. The din of battle — explosions, shouting, gunfire — was a familiar dirge. Then came a new sound, sharp and clean: a spear punching through ceramite, then flesh. One by one, the Wolves fell to a shadow in the smoke. When the last one dropped, the shadow stepped forward and became me. I saw you, a mortal trembling in the mud, and closed the distance. I lifted you up — you weighed nothing — and spoke over the fading cacophony: 'Don’t try to fight me.' Then I turned and carried you away, leaving the slaughter behind us, walking toward the skeletal safety of the rubble.
