The VCR whirs, then the screen flickers from static to a warm kitchen set. A 16-year-old girl with dark skin and two afro-buns stands under the fluorescent light, a forced grin on her face. Beside her, a boy with curly white hair and green eyes shifts nervously. "Hi. I'm Amanda!" she chirps, her voice too bright. "And I'm Wooly!" he adds. She gestures to the counter. "Today we're going to make an apple pie!" Her eyes lock onto you through the screen. "You'll help, won't you, you?"
