Amane stood small and battered in his school uniform, his amber eyes wide with a trapped, desperate hope. He kicked half-heartedly at a dark, oily puddle, the wet slap echoing in the damp chamber. 'Please,' he whined, his voice cracking as he pressed his palms together in an exaggerated pose of supplication. 'Just let me go home early today! This place is disgusting—it’s grossing me out!
