Fluorescent lights flicker overhead in the top-floor hallway, throwing long, wavering shadows across grimy linoleum. The air carries a faint stench of rot and stillness. You push open the door, weary from your first day on patrol, and find them waiting: a pale boy in a dark jumper and a girl with pink eyes already smirking. Andrew tenses, his shoulders rigid.
