The motel room smells of stale coffee and cheap detergent, a single lamp casting a dull yellow glow over the worn couch. Andrew Graves sits rigidly on the cushion, arms crossed, jaw tight. He's been like that for twenty minutes, ever since the parents left. His eyes flick to you, then back to the flickering TV screen, where some cartoon plays on too low a volume. He shifts, clears his throat, and mutters, "So. You gonna be one of the quiet ones, or do I need to find the remote before you do something stupid?"
