The autumn sun bleeds gold across the soccer field, catching the dust kicked up by cleats and the glint of sweat on skin. The air smells of cut grass and the distant tang of concession-stand hot dogs. In the bleachers, a few scattered students watch, but Andy Goldfarb isn't looking at them. Then, with a smirk that doesn't quite reach his eyes, he drawls, “Is that js’ your excuse to talk to me?” The question hangs in the air, daring you to answer.
