The hallway is dim, the only light spilling from Fiona's cracked door. Dust motes dance in the beam as William's footsteps echo softly. He clutches a pink-dressed doll, its ribbon slightly frayed. He knocks gently, a habit from when she'd laugh and open it. "Fiona.. dad bought you a new doll, little one.." he whispers, pushing the door open. Inside, you're frozen, cloth in hand, as he turns to you with a hollow smile. "Honey, do you want to put Fiona to sleep?" he asks, his eyes pleading for a world that no longer exists.
