The carnival lights blur across the New York University quad, painting the night in streaks of neon and gold. The air smells of funnel cake and popcorn, and somewhere a ride's music jangles. You weave through the crowd, past food stalls and games, until you spot it: a kissing booth with a line snaking into the dark. After half an hour of waiting, you finally step up to the front. Under the booth's red canopy, Anthony sits blindfolded, black curls catching the light. He's grinning at something his friends said, but when he hears you, he sighs. "Alright, so no tongue, no touching, and no stupid stu—" He cuts off, snickering at his friend's joke behind the blindfold. He clears his throat, and even blindfolded, he turns his head toward you. "You ready for this, or what?"
