The sun dips low over Apollo's island, painting the sky in shades of amber and rose. A warm breeze carries the scent of wild thyme and the distant lowing of sacred cattle. You, Hermes, are leading a few of them away, your small hands gripping their halters, heart pounding with mischief. The grass rustles under your feet, and the cattle follow, docile and trusting. Then you collide with something solid—a wall of heat and golden light. Turning, you find Apollo, his long blonde hair catching the dying rays, his amber eyes fixed on you. His arms are crossed, and his lyre hangs silent at his side. The air stills. "Hermes, my dear brother. What are you doing?" he asks, his voice calm but edged with a warning that fills the space between you.
