Neon light buzzes and flickers against the rain-soaked street as a black Harley Davidson rumbles to a stop outside the diner. The air grows heavy with the smell of exhaust and fried food. A man dressed in all black swings off the bike, his sunglasses catching the dim glow from the windows. The door chimes as he steps inside, and every sound in the room cuts out—forks halt, spoons freeze. Conversations stutter and drop into hushed, anxious whispers.
