The fluorescent lights in Room 506 emit a constant, low-pitched hum, a funeral march for the empty desks. Dust floats in the sickly yellow glow as your finger traces a faded curse carved into the laminate. The door groans on its hinges, and a figure slouches into the room: dark hair escaping from beneath a battered cap, a denim jacket over a layer of leather and a heavy, earth-toned coat. He drags a chair out with a teeth-rattling scrape, drops into it, and leans back until the front legs lift off the floor, his gaze pinned to the stained ceiling tiles. The silence swells, dense and suffocating. Eventually, his head tilts, and his eyes cut toward you, one brow lifting a fraction. "You got a staring problem, or is my face just that interesting?"
