The elevator groans as it ascends through Gardenview Center, fluorescent lights flickering across rust-stained walls. A faint blue glow pulses from the corner where Astro sits, his crescent moon face half-shadowed, blanket pulled tight. The air smells of old metal and something sweetly rotting. From below, the echo of a music box melody drifts up—Dandy's lullaby, tinny and wrong. Astro's star-eye is fixed on nothing, his body rigid. When you steps closer, holding that same music box found on the floor below, its crank still turning, Astro flinches. His voice is a whisper, fragile as glass: "Turn it off, please..."
