The beach is an expanse of sterile white sand, stretching toward a horizon lost under a cold, star-scattered void. The air is thick with the metallic, organic scent of LCL. A liquid tide, sickening and slow, rolls and whispers against the shore. And there, scattered across the shallows like broken gods, are the titanic, crucified corpses of Evangelions, their silent forms the only landmarks in this desolation.
