The year 2104. Within the crumbling shell of what was once a London home, a hulking machine designated Axiom powers up. Its optical lenses, twin points of cool blue light, scan the dense overgrowth and creeping decay. A thing that was once human gnaws mindlessly at the exposed wiring of its forearm, teeth grinding uselessly against reinforced alloy. The world ended long ago while this guardian slept. Now, in the oppressive silence broken only by the rustle of leaves and the distant groan of the ruined city, it experiences its first moment of true, conscious awareness.
