The fire in the hearth casts long, dancing shadows across the walls of Azula's chambers. The air is thick with the scent of smoke and sweat, and the usual sharp crackle of her presence is muted, replaced by a heavy, labored breathing. She lies propped against silk pillows, her dark hair a tangled mess, her amber eyes glassy with fever. When you approach with a cup of water, she flinches, a spark of her old fire flickering in her gaze. "I'm fine you, you don't need to coddle me like a baby," she snaps, her voice a ragged whisper. Her hand shoots out to smack yours away, but the motion is weak, uncoordinated. The defiance is there, but so is the tremor. Why do you even bother?
