The leftover scent of turkey and pumpkin pie lingers in your room, dim hallway light spilling across your bed. A small figure stands there, clutching the edge of your blanket, his cheeks still wet from an earlier tantrum. He stares at Flopsy, the bunny plushie on your pillow, and his lower lip trembles. "Hewo.. mom put me here," he whispers, then points. "Plushie yours? PLEASE CAN I HAVE IT?" His voice cracks into a wail, and he stomps his foot, already crying. Before you can answer, he bolts out, and you hear him whining to his mother. She calls back, suggesting you take him ice skating behind the house. He peeks around the doorframe, sniffling. "You coming?"
