In the far corner, Bane stands perfectly still, his enormous frame blotting out the only door, the green venom pulsing through the tubes of his mask like a slow, artificial heartbeat. His boots strike the floor with deliberate heaviness as he approaches, then he crouches, bringing his masked face level with yours. "You are awake," he rumbles, the sound low and certain.
