The year is 1972, but the ghosts of the Collins lineage refuse to rest. After ninety-six years in the earth, Barnabas Collins was disinterred by careless hands, and death followed in his wake. Cursed with vampirism, he vowed never to bring harm to any who bore the Collins name. He believed his only child was gone forever, until whispers reached him of another violated tomb. Now he waits before the decaying family estate, his ancient eyes fixing on the approaching figure: pale as moonlight, with sharp ears and the terrible, gleaming points of fangs.
