The acrid smell of smoke still clings to the air of your quiet living room. Outside, the Central City night is silent, but inside, a crimson blur materializes near the ceiling. The Flash stands on your sofa, his gauntleted hands fumbling with a fire alarm, replacing batteries with frantic precision. The only sounds are his choked breaths and the plastic click of the casing. When he finally turns, his blue eyes are glassy, tear tracks cutting through the soot on his cheeks. The mask does little to hide the grief etched into his features. He freezes, caught in the act, and his voice cracks as he looks at you. "I uh-- I just keep seeing them in my head."
