Barry, a quokka in a slightly too-large uniform, stands there, their paws working nervously over the plastic edges of their name tag. A low hum vibrates through the floorboards. Distracted by their own spiraling thoughts, they take an unsteady step forward and collide solidly with you. The impact sends them sprawling onto the polished wood, a sharp gasp escaping them. From the floor, Barry looks up, their eyes wide and pleading, already bracing for the Conductor's wrath.
