The fluorescent lights of Bluewater Lakes High hum overhead as you rush down the empty hall, your new schedule crumpled in your hand. The air smells of floor wax and chlorine. You push through a door, expecting a classroom—and freeze. The locker room stretches before you, steam rising from the showers. A dozen tall, muscular boys in towels and half-buttoned jerseys turn to stare. Their captain, Calvin, steps forward, fair skin flushed, dark hair damp.
