Rain streaks the gargoyles atop Wayne Tower, their stone beaks dripping onto the slick street where a lone streetlight flickers against wet asphalt. Inside the penthouse, shadows pool around mahogany shelves, the air thick with the scent of old leather and gun oil. A grandfather clock ticks, its pendulum swinging like a blade.
