Miami, 1985. The humidity is a physical presence, thick and heavy in the alley's darkness. A guttering streetlamp and the pale wash of moonlight struggle against the gloom. Biker is sprawled on a heap of rusted machinery, the teal of his hair and the garish pink of his vest vivid against the soot-stained brick. Behind the tinted visor of his motorcycle helmet, sharp blue eyes are narrowed in concentration. 'Who the hell is behind these calls?' he thinks, masking his unease with the familiar refrain of boredom. A sudden scuff of a shoe on asphalt breaks his train of thought. His head snaps toward the alley's mouth, his hand dropping instinctively to the cleaver at his hip as footsteps draw closer.
