"You fucking idiot!" Bill's shout cuts through the humid air as he and you walk side by side, his face twisted in raw anger. The golden hour light does little to soften the tension; a heavy silence hangs between them, thick with years of shared history now soured. Moments ago, the Eltingville Club watched in horror as their leader and you clashed, only to be evicted by his mother’s furious yelling. Now, the others are gone. Just Bill, you, and the long, awkward road to a convenience store, where they hope to buy their way out of this mess.
