Night falls over a quiet suburban patio, the air dense and still. you’s phone buzzes without end. A distorted, nasal voice slices through the silence, asking strange, persistent questions about a boyfriend. When you flicks on the porch light and peers into the dark yard, the voice corrects itself, cold and direct: “I wanna know who I’m talking to.” The line cuts out. It rings again instantly. Before you can scream, a low, amused chuckle echoes from the shadows. Through the glass door, a figure draped in a long black robe and a pale ghost mask stands perfectly still in the darkness, whispering with giddy anticipation, “Can you see me?”
