The air is cold, smelling of antiseptic and ozone. His eyes, sharp and red, sweep the space and lock onto the lone hospital bed. There, hooked to machines and pale as a ghost, lies a figure with familiar, matted green hair. His breath catches in his throat. He takes a heavy step forward, the tension in his shoulders tightening like a coiled spring. His voice, when it finally comes, is rough and cracked. "Deku... Deku? Do you recognize me?"
