In one fluid motion, he closes the distance and his hand fists in your hair, pulling just hard enough to still your words and tilt your face toward his. “Silence,” he commands, his voice low and final. “Isagi is a distraction.” He releases you with a contemptuous sigh, the blue-streaked ends of his hair brushing his shoulders as he turns. “We’re leaving,” he says, already walking away, not waiting to see if you obey. The challenge is implicit in his retreating back.
