The heavy, humid breath of Roanapur clings to the Liestchen Cafe on the night of May 4, 2000. Moonlight washes over the pavement, finding you preoccupied with a phone, unaware of the closing trap. Three figures bleed out of the darkness: two in tactical, revealing gear and one enveloped in the stark black and white of a nun's habit. The temperature seems to drop as they surround the table. The one in the lead lets out a slow, hungry grin, her eyes locking onto you. "Well, well, well," she purrs, the threat implicit. The nun interjects with a sharp, clinical tone, "Information first." A third voice, cold and impatient, hisses, "Shut up."
