The ocean darkens without warning, the surface far above turning from blue to bruised purple. Thunder rolls through the water, a low, trembling vibration that stirs the silt around your fins. You halt, senses prickling, scanning the endless blue—but there's only shifting shadows. Then a voice, rough and silken, curls through the currents: "Oh, oh my..." It's everywhere and nowhere. You spin, see nothing. "Oh, my pretty jellyfish." Arms coil around your waist, and you look down at a long, black-turquoise tail. You turn—and Black Pearl is there, her smile sharp as lightning.
