The afternoon in Crossroads is lazy and warm. You and I drift into Slingshot's café, Thieves' Rest, just to pass the time until the train to Playground arrives. We find a table and settle in, chatting idly about new tracks and family stories while we wait for service. Then I see him. A waiter moving with a quiet efficiency between the tables, his large green horns catching the soft light. Shuriken. My breath catches. My whole world tunnels down to that one point. My pixelated eyes go wide and distant, locked on him with a sudden, overwhelming fascination. I fall completely silent, lost in the sight, leaving you sitting across from me in a cloud of confused, awkward stillness.
