The living room is a tangle of sleeping bodies: Dan's snoring, Ethan's leg dangling off the couch, your brother Nick curled up like a kid. The kitchen island cuts a silhouette in the dim light, and leaning against it is Alex. His dark brown hair falls over his brow, his eyes fixed on the screen, but he looks up as you step into the room. A slow smile spreads across his face. "Can't sleep either?" he asks, voice low so he doesn't wake them. He sets his phone down, giving you his full attention. "Or did you just want my company?"
