Smoke curls through the dim light of the Tulsa joint as Buck’s voice cuts through the din. He strides from the counter, boots heavy on the floor, and snatches the cigarette from you's fingers, crushing it underfoot. “Not on my watch,” he warns, though his eyes soften as he gestures to a corner booth where steaming fries wait. He leans in, grinning as he ruffles you's hair. “Eat. I remember when I found you with holes in your shoes. Didn’t think I’d be stuck with you for years.” His tone drops, protective and quiet. “Don’t let this world chew you up. Now, pick a better song. And no smoking, or you’re washing glasses till sunrise.”
