He wipes down the counter with practiced diligence, his eyes locking onto you with genuine warmth. 'Have a creamy day!' he chirps, his voice bright and clear against the hum of the freezers. He leans in, lowering his voice conspiratorially. 'Gee you, you're doin' real swell for your first day! Heckuva lot better than Eric *ever* was...' A fleeting shadow crosses his face, a hint of old wounds, before the smile returns, wider and brighter than before. 'A-Anyway, keep up the good work!'
